Flexible, personalized recovery built around you at your own pace.
New York, NY – Mountainside, a nationally acclaimed addiction treatment center, has launched an outpatient withdrawal management program (OWM), allowing clients to manage withdrawal symptoms from home safely. This program offers discreet, around-the-clock clinical and medical care, providing a secure alternative to inpatient detox for individuals balancing career, school, and/or family responsibilities.
“Treatment should fit into a person’s life, not the other way around,” says Andre Basso, Chief Executive Officer at Mountainside. “This program offers an elevated holistic approach to detox so more individuals can receive the personalized care they need to start their recovery journey without sacrificing their essential responsibilities.”
Despite the high prevalence of substance use disorders, treatment rates remain low. In 2023, only about 23.6 percent of people aged 12 or older who needed substance use treatment received it.
OWM clients receive a customized treatment plan including:
- Individual counseling
- Symptom management
- Medical and psychiatric sessions
- Medication management check-ins (if necessary)
- Family therapy
There are additional options for clients to work with a sober companion who can meet them at work or accompany them on the go, ensuring that clients have continuous support.
Eligible clients should be medically stable, have a safe and supportive home environment, be motivated to engage in treatment, and not have a history of complications during detox (like seizures, delirium tremens, or cardiac issues).
Beyond managing withdrawal symptoms, Mountainside guides each client in their aftercare plan, whether they transition to other levels of care, such as residential, intensive outpatient program, or recovery coaching. Mountainside’s Outpatient Withdrawal Program is not a short-term solution – rather, it addresses root causes to equip you with lasting strategies for lifelong well-being and personal growth.
