Alcohol took me to a really low place. I was a real hopeless alcoholic. I didn’t like who I was. I felt stuck and lost most of the time. My relationships were broken or falling apart, and I didn’t really see a future for myself. I was just going through the motions without much direction or hope.
Today, my life looks completely different. I genuinely like the person I am now, and that’s something I never thought I’d be able to say. I’ve repaired relationships with my family and built stronger, more honest connections. I have a beautiful fiancé, a baby on the way, and a dog that brings so much joy into my life. I’m about to finish college and feel proud of what I’ve accomplished. Most importantly, I love my life today. None of this would have been possible without AA and the friendships I’ve made through it—they gave me the support, accountability, and strength to rebuild everything I once thought was lost.
