Family Recovery Coaching Program Overview

When your loved one suffers from addiction, taking the time to focus on yourself can seem impossible. To help you address any fear, stress, and anxiety caused by your loved one’s addiction struggles and to help you learn how to prioritize your own needs & happiness, Mountainside Treatment Center offers a Family Recovery Coaching program. This program provides you with a Nationally-Certified Family Recovery Coach to serve as a partner and guide in this difficult time.

All Mountainside Family Recovery Coaches have first-hand experience with the impact addiction can have on the family unit. Our caring professionals truly understand what you are going through and can provide you with a unique perspective, helpful support, and countless resources.

Mountainside’s Family Recovery Coaching program consists of four key components:

Comprehensive Wellness Plan

Shifting the focus back to you is vital to healing. Partnering with your recovery coach, you formulate a comprehensive wellness plan designed around your overall well-being and recovery goals. Together, you integrate self-care into your daily life and tackle important issues such as codependency, enabling behaviors, and boundaries. Throughout your treatment, your coach works closely with our expert clinical team to track your progress and make adjustments to the plan when necessary.

Connected Care Network

When you live in a constant state of emergency, it is easy to forget about your basic needs. Our Family Recovery Coaching program makes it easier for you to start taking care of your holistic health by connecting you with any additional service providers you may need, including clinical, medical, psychiatric, wellness, and legal services. All of our referrals are carefully vetted to ensure that you receive quality care and support in all critical areas of your life.

Weekly Meetings

Rebuilding your life takes time and commitment. Through in-depth face-to-face, phone, and video sessions, you take the goals established in your wellness plan and break them down into concrete action items. Setting weekly objectives and identifying the steps needed to accomplish them allows you to keep better track of your priorities and ensures that you continue to make progress.

Daily Check-Ins

Life is full of surprises – both positive and negative. By maintaining constant communication through text and calls, your coach provides you support and guidance to address in real-time any unexpected challenges that pop up. Always by your side, your coach is also there when you want to celebrate an accomplishment, no matter how big or small. Daily check-ins also help keep you accountable and focused on your wellness plan.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How is Family Recovery Coaching Different than Family Therapy?

Unlike family therapy, which requires the family to work in tandem to repair the relationship, Family Recovery Coaching focuses on you and your own personal needs and goals. Through Family Recovery Coaching, you shift the focus from your loved one’s addiction to your own well-being, allowing you to heal and positively change your life, regardless of where your loved one is in their journey. Family Recovery Coaching places a strong emphasis on the present than family counseling, which often focuses on events from the past. Taking it one moment at a time, you and your coach will work on getting you through today and planning for a productive, peaceful, and enjoyable future.

While a family therapist is available to you during your sessions, a Family Recovery Coach is available to you at any time.
