Alyssa Cumpstone is a Licensed Professional Counselor who brings a trauma-responsive, client-centered approach to addiction treatment. As Director of Inpatient Services at Mountainside, she oversees clinical programming across detox and residential levels of care, helping create a treatment environment that supports healing, growth, and long-term recovery.

Alyssa holds a Master of Education in Rehabilitation Counseling and a Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders. She has experience working with trauma, co-occurring disorders, and family-related challenges, and is skilled in evidence-based approaches, including motivational interviewing and cognitive-behavioral therapy. She also incorporates EMDR resourcing to help clients manage cravings, navigate triggers, and strengthen coping skills in early recovery. Through this work, Alyssa empowers clients to recognize their strengths, deepen self-awareness, and build the tools needed for a sober, productive life.

At Mountainside, Alyssa is committed to fostering a supportive, structured inpatient experience grounded in empathy, collaboration, and clinical excellence. She believes meaningful recovery begins with helping each client feel understood, capable, and equipped to move forward with confidence.
