Wayne Thompson, Clinician for Mountainside Addiction Treatment CenterWayne Thompson holds a Master in Social Work from the University of Connecticut, School of Social Work in West Hartford, CT. Prior to joining the Mountainside team, he worked in non-profit, state funded programs for over 15 years, serving clients as a mental health clinician, substance abuse counselor, as well as child and family therapist. Wayne has considerable experience working on male gender-specific issues and has a special talent handling complex treatment cases. Wayne was drawn to Mountainside because of our reputation for successfully utilizing ethical, evidence-based treatment methods. He believes that each treatment plan needs to be customized to meet the needs of the individual and their particular situation and that it is important “meet clients where they are.” Wayne likes using a variety of therapy modalities including Motivational Interviewing, psychotherapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to empower our clients, helping them to overcome their personal addiction obstacles. During his free time, Wayne maximizes opportunities to be outdoors in nature by golfing, hiking, and gardening.
