Career Opportunity - Medical - Insurance Billing Specialist

Mountainside Treatment Center is an innovative and comprehensive drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility located in Connecticut.

We are currently seeking a full-time Insurance Billing Coordinator. The ideal candidate will have experience working with insurance companies, an understanding of pre-certification processes, utilization reviews and the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment. Knowledge of substance abusive disorders and treatment is a plus.

JOB DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Knowledge over EMR (Electronic Medical Records)
  • Word processing, spreadsheet, and other software applications to prepare reports, invoices, financial statements and letters
  • Review insurance policy to determine benefit coverage. Knowledge of out-of-network benefits and co-insurance
  • Manage settlement charges with insurance companies
  • Interview patients to complete documents, case histories, and forms such as intake and insurance forms
  • Correspond with insured or agent to obtain information or inform them account status or changes
  • Verify accuracy of billing data and revise any errors
  • Complete insurance and other claim forms / UBO4 claim forms on a weekly basis
  • Maintains all insurance payments including all reconciliation
  • Preparing itemized billing statements
  • Process and record new insurance policies and claims
  • Maintains financial records
  • Resolve discrepancies in accounting records
  • Take calls from residents and families to provide customer service and obtain information on claims
  • Responsible for storage of all financial records
  • Maintain adequate interpersonal relationship with employees and insurance companies
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors (BA/BS) degree preferred.
  • Must have 1-3 years of experience in a related field.
  • Experience working with insurance companies a plus.
  • Prior experience in sales / marketing / customer service.
  • Excellent written, verbal skills and communication is required.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced multi-task environment.
  • Knowledge of Sigmund Software / Quickbooks is a plus.
  • Background in MS Office with proficiency in Excel and Word.
