The long term addiction and alcholism treatment component offers those residents who require extended stays in treatment a specialized program to work on the fundamental constructive issues that ensure long-term sobriety. Many individuals have struggled to find success in remaining free from substance abuse and or alcoholism, and many of these benefit by a flexible addiction treatment approach that works over time.
Our long-term addiction treatment program is a process that is unique to each individual, some core elements are:
The addiction and alcoholism counselor works with the client and carefully examines the individual’s psychological profile, social and substance abuse history to determine what has been effective and what has not been effective from a therapeutic as well as from a recovery standpoint. The client has full access to all of the many services at Mountainside including psychiatric services if needed. The counselor and clinical team work to explore and discover the individual’s interests and goals.
The counselor carefully constructs a flexible treatment plan with the client, that can and will change as the individual's needs and goals change. This component is focused on constructive behaviors, healthy choices, time management and long term sobriety to ensure functioning in social, family and vocational or educational contexts.
Understanding the importance of both planning and successful addiction treatment outcomes, the Mountainside addiction treatment team puts special emphasis on aftercare planning. Each client works with his/her counselor and our Continuing Care Coordinator to develop the Aftercare Program and the appropriate referrals, when needed, are made to one of the many of national contacts that Mountainside has in its network.
