Drug Addiction Intervention

Intervention For Addiction and AlcoholismIntervention

Treatment for the alcoholic or addict is sometimes dangerously delayed because of the mistaken belief that an individual must “hit bottom” or “treatment will work only if the person wants it”.  Their denial of the problem and resistance to treatment blurs their reality. The purpose of interventions is to get substance abusers out of denial and show them the ways in which their disease is affecting their lives and the people they love the most. The presentation of the facts, coupled with the strong emotions of people who care for him or her, can temporarily quiet the denial and connect with the person’s soul.

Professional Help

Professional intervention is an invitation - not a confrontation - to accept help. Treatment works, but getting the individual to treatment is often easier said than done. It is believed that interventions have a 90-95% success rate when done under the guidance and supervision of a professional Intervention Specialist and with the help of other people close to the individual needing the intervention.
