Recovery is a path filled with twists and turns, but you don’t have to navigate it alone. The Alumni Services team will  provide the ongoing support you’ll need as you embark on your path to long-term sobriety after treatment. Through thoughtfully curated events, as well as fun ways to stay connected online, Mountainside remains invested in every client’s recovery success and will continue to have a positive impact on your quality of life long after you leave our campus.

Alumni Connections

Long-Term Support for Long-Term Recovery Success

We understand that connection plays a pivotal role in successful long-term recovery. Our Alumni Services team will encourage you to forge meaningful bonds with peers and build a healthy support network of like-minded individuals. Through shared experiences, Mountainside alumni can gain a sense of validation by knowing they are not alone in their struggles, while joining together to celebrate victories.

Support from the Alumni Services team will continue to reinforce the foundation built in your addiction treatment program for better chances of long-term recovery success. And, we are proud to report that surveys of past alumni reveal positive impacts on many facets of quality of life. In fact, over 96 percent of Mountainside alumni report that they are indeed happier after experiencing treatment at Mountainside. They also reported an 87 percent improvement in overall quality of life post treatment. When asked whether they noticed changes with regard to their mental health following treatment, Mountainside alumni provided some inspiring responses:

Special Events & Opportunities for Alumni

The Alumni Services team coordinates amazing opportunities to help you build new, healthy friendships and learn (or relearn) how to have sober fun. These gatherings create opportunities to safely leave your “comfort zone,” rediscover your passions, give back to the community, and form lasting bonds with people on a similar journey.

Give Support, Get Support

Giving back to the community not only helps others, but it also strengthens your fortitude, while growing support networks for all involved. By helping you to discover new purpose and make a meaningful impact in the lives of others, volunteering can put you in a more positive frame of mind that fosters personal growth, emotional development, and spiritual strength.

Alumni Share Night Speakers

Alumni with at least six months of sobriety can volunteer to share personal stories of recovery with individuals who are currently in treatment at Mountainside. This helps clients to see that recovery is a real possibility and assists them in visualizing a healthy, sober future. Learn More.

Alumni Ambassadors Program

Alumni with at least a year of sobriety can join this program to help new Mountainside alumni transition to life after treatment. You’ll accompany new alumni to support groups and 12 Step meetings, as well as help them to begin establishing a support network.
